New Report on Civil Society Strategies to Counter the Anti-gender Movement
The Advocates has released its latest report, “Strategies of Civil Society to Counter the Far-right Backlash against Human Rights.” Based on firsthand information from human rights defenders, The Advocates has documented the promising and innovative tactics that civil society is undertaking to push back against the anti-gender movement and continue protecting women’s human rights.
The Advocates' Report on the Backlash to the Istanbul Convention
The Advocates undertook fact-finding to investigate the anti-gender, far-right movement that is resulting in rollbacks to human rights around the world. Among these rollbacks is the backlash against the Istanbul Convention, or the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence.
The Advocates Analyzes Turkmenistan's Penal Legislation
In partnership with Progres Foundation and for Turkmenistan's upcoming CEDAW review, The Advocates analyzed Turkmenistan's Criminal Code, Criminal Procedure Code, and Administrative Code and made recommendations to strengthen the law and enhance victim safety and offender accountability.
