New WHO Report on Economics of Interpersonal Viole

The World Health Organization recently released a 56-page research report, The Economic Dimensions of Interpersonal Violence.  According to the WHO website, the report focuses on the following three areas: 

  • The economic effects of interpersonal violence in a variety of socioeconomic and cultural settings.
  • The economic effects of interventions intended to reduce interpersonal violence.
  • The effects of economic conditions and policies on interpersonal violence – with particular reference to poverty, structural adjustment, income equality and social investment.  (Cited from WHO website Summary, available here.)
