Argentina: Thousands of Protesters Rally Against Domestic Violence

More than two hundred thousand people marched in Buenos Aires, Argentina, under the slogan “Ni Una Menos” (“Not one more less”) to protest the country's high rate of violence against women. The protests were sparked by the recent high profile murders of Argentine women and girls by their intimate partners. Advocates and demonstrators say that despite the existence of laws against femicide and other forms of violence against women, implementation is poor and perpetrators enjoy impunity for their crimes. Protestors also gathered in the Latin American countries of Chile and Uruguay.
