UN Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights Issues First Report on LGBT Human Rights
The United Nations Office for the High Commissioner for Human Rights issued its first report on the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in December. It addresses violence, detention, criminalization, and discrimination based on sexual orientation or sexual identity worldwide. The Office appeals to countries to cease criminalization of homosexuality and highlights the risks faced by advocates for LGBT rights.
