Bosnia and Herzegovina: New Legislation to Protect Victims of Domestic Violence

The Foundation of Local Democracy has announced that two new laws regarding domestic violence have been enacted in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Srpska.  According to the Foundation, the laws contain effective mechanisms to provide protection for victims of domestic violence.

The new  Law on Protection from Domestic Violence  in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was adopted in February 2013 and is published in the Official Gazette of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina 20/13,  13 March 2013In the Republic of Srpska, the Law on Protection from Domestic
Violence was renewed in 2012, and was published in the Official Gazette of RS  120/ 12, 5 November 2012.
