UNiTE Emphasizes the Importance of Implementing the Conclusions of the 57th Commission on the Status of Women
The 57th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), held in New York City this last March, is being championed as a collaborative success. Contributing to the conference were the 45 Member States of the Commission, United Nations representatives, and involved activists, resulting in high levels of participation and negotiation. The end product of the commission was a compilation of conclusions condemning violence against women and girls. Many individuals and organizations are confident not only in these conclusions, but also their future implementation.
UNiTE is optimistic that the implementation of the conclusions of the 57th CSW will result in enormous progress in combating violence against women and girls around the world.
