Ecuador: Justa Libertad Coalition Demand Decriminalization of Abortion

Justa Libertad, an Ecuadorian coalition, has filed a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court of Ecuador to decriminalize abortion, aiming to ensure safe access for women, girls, and other pregnant individuals. Currently, Ecuador imposes up to three years in prison for abortion, with limited exceptions. Justa Libertad argues that criminalizing abortion violates human rights. The coalition urges Ecuador to join other Latin American countries in advancing reproductive justice.
