Mexico: UN-Appointed Experts Condemn Assaults and Murders of Women Searching for Missing Relatives

Several UN Special Procedures have condemned the assaults and murders of Mexican women activists who have been searching for missing familly members. The group has urged the Government of Mexico to investigate and prosecute those responsible for the crimes against the activists. The UN-appointed experts stated the assaults and killings are often linked to organized crime, with the collusion of authorities.
