New Report: Experts Urge Council of Europe States to Protect Child Victims of Trafficking
The Council of Europe Group of Experts on Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) has published its fourth periodic report on the implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings. The report found that most state parties to the COE trafficking convention were failing to adequately “identify child victims of human trafficking and provide them with the support they are legally entitled to.” The report, covering the period August 2013 to September 2014, identified additional areas for improvement as well as best practices in victim compensation and criminal prosecutions.
