Moldova: National Agency to Be Created for Preventing and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence

On July 18, 2023, Moldova's Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration announced the proposed establishment of a National Agency for Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence. The proposal has the support of UN agencies, members of parliament, governmental ministries and NGOs, and would reflect a next step in implementation of the Istanbul Convention, to which the Moldovan government is a state party.
