International Seminar Marks Fourth in a Series for

In response to the rising level of migration into Europe, The European Contact Group (EKS) has sponsored a series of meetings for ethnic minority women. These meetings have enabled minority women to voice their opinions on and experience with racism, discrimination and lack of tolerance, difficulty with asylum procedures, employment abuse and other day-to-day problems.

Three such meetings have taken place thus far: “Economic, Social and Ethical Transformation of Europe from the Women’s Perspective” (Paris, 1995); “Family Rights in Multicultural Europe” (Antwerp, 1998); and “The Role of Women in Construction of European Multicultural Society” (Glay, 2001).

On 20-24 April 2005, the fourth meeting will take place in the Czech Republic. The theme of the meeting is: “Women’s Values and Spirituality as a key to Tolerant, Multicultural and Multireligious Europe-Every day Life of Women from Ethnic Minority Groups in Europe.”
