A related focus of the UNICRI is efforts to
counter human trafficking. Its programs and activities include efforts to control trafficking channels, and to assist victims, particularly women and children. Its efforts are executed by collaborating with governments and international organizations that have experience in issues related to trafficking. In addition to international organizations, the UNICRI promotes the involvement of the general public in the areas where efforts are performed.
