South Korea: Feminist activism drives momentum for Yoon Suk-yeol’s impeachment

Amid President Yoon Suk-yeol’s impeachment, South Korean women were among the first to join peaceful protests aimed at safeguarding democracy in the country. Grassroots movements, protests, and widespread criticism highlighted their demands for justice and representation in a society still grappling with entrenched patriarchal norms. This resistance underscored the growing power of feminist activism in shaping South Korea’s political landscape and challenging systemic discrimination.
