Global: Musawah wins 2025 Niwano Prize for advocacy in women’s rights

Musawah, an international NGO dedicated to advancing women's rights in Muslim societies, has been awarded the 2025 Niwano Prize, a prestigious honor recognizing contributions to interfaith dialogue and peace. The award recognizes Musawah’s work across more than 40 countries to challenge gender-based discrimination, promote legal and social reforms, and empower women in leadership since 2009, focusing on fostering justice and equality through education, advocacy, and community engagement. The award ceremony will take place in Tokyo on May 14, where Musawah will receive a medal and a 125,000 euro prize.
